Argelès-sur-Mer

The Mediterranean caressed by a sunlit sky, an enormous fine sandy beach that extends to our beautiful Côte Rocheuse.

Blue flag sign for quality of clean beaches,handiplage beach (beach is made accessible to handicapped persons), kids stations, are as many European quality labels as the community of Argelès-sur-Mer has had since its inception..

The coastal path highlights the historic and natural heritage. The part form Le Racou to the beach of l’Ouille passes by the schist cliffs running through pebbly shingle beaches called de Portells -stairs carved into the rocks facilitating the discovery-before arriving on the beach of l’Ouille. Beyond Argelès-sur-mer, the coastal path continues passing Collioure and Port-Vendres

Le Racou is classifed world heritage site by the community and the conservatory of the French Coastal Protection Agency to protect the scenic character of this area
Tour de la Massane is classified as world nature reserve (794m). In a few hours you cross the Mediterranean shrubland ‘le maquis’ filled with the scent of flowers laden with humus of the undergrowth.

Tautavel is a recognized around the world for having in its territory La Caune de l’Arago, a prehistoric cave having accommodated the oldest known European, 450 000 years ago, nearby you can visit the gorges of Galamus

Céret : visit the Museum of Modern Art of Céret, the galleries and painters, Catalan culture, music and bullfighting, it’s the capital of the cherry

Villefranche de conflent  situated on the little one of the peak of the canigou Villefranche is listed as one of the most « Beautiful Villages of France », listed world heritage monument by UNESCO, one of the 14 tourist sites of the works of Vauban.

South Catalonia
